Reef Tank - Test Results 11/1

Haven’t test water since 10/11, just under 3 weeks. Here were the results then:

  • kH ~ 140 (LaMotte) (7.8 or so…)
  • Ca ~ +450
  • Mg ~ 1300
  • NO3 ~ 10 / 15
  • PO4 ~ 0.14
  • So, I’m pleased to report

  • kH ~ 120 (LaMotte) (6.8 or so…)
  • Ca ~ +400
  • Mg ~ 1200 - 1250
  • NO3 ~ LESS THAN 2ppm
  • PO4 ~LESS THAN 0.03
  • I did do a 2 gallon water change before testing, hence the Mg, Ca / kH a bit off than my usual. But even after 3 gallon changes in the past, I’ve never seen NO3 or phosphate at these levels. Hesitant to attribute these changes directly to the bacs, but these are noticeable changes.

great numbers logan! glad to see it working well for you. that acro looks killer too. what kits are you using? i just trashed my sali’s and will be getting some elos…it would be cool to compare readings. lmk.

I use Elos for quick checks of Ca, kH & Mg. DD Merck for PO4. Lamotte for kH & Ca, and salifert for NO3 & Mg. Kits of seachem for Mg & Ca, just due to running out of Lamotte / sali and having to buy them. If you’re planning on getting some elos, let me know. I’d re-order kH which I’m out of and I’d like to try their PO4. Elos has been accurate when compared to any other kit I’ve used.
