sure we'd be up for the seachem one. we do weekly wc's so RC would be a no go for us. besides the borate, everything else is good with seachem.

premium has schuran JS1's on sale right now...they're not going to be carrying them anymore, it's very tempting. not sure if i'd go with a GEO instead if i did go that route? a LM3 done properly would look pretty cool though. i'm a fan of the mad scientist look :D

after christmas sounds good, it's mounted and encrusting more and more each day.

Oh, you guys use the Seachem? I think I have a spare kit for borate alk. if you want it. It comes with one of their other kits and I’ve never used it. I plan on sticking with Reef Crystals - considering I don’t do huge water changes (or many water changes at all, for that matter - maybe 3 gallons / month at most), it doesn’t have any real effect on my tank. After every change, I test and adjust right away.

Yeah, LM3 or Ca Rx, hmmmm? Since you guys are going bigger soon, that’s something to think about. You can’t lose going either route - both of them beat 5x / day manual dosing ;)

If you have a little rubble or something to mount on, that would be great. I would like to wait a week or two, maybe after xmas? Want to make sure tank stays stable since started the FM. One chips’ frag already met it’s demise, not wanting a repeat :D

i may be able to save 1 small half inch frag the rest of it went. the alk dropped to about 6.0 over a few days which is closer to 5 with reefsalt, we normally keep it at 8. i'm now dosing 2 part 6ml's 5x's a day...it's not as bad as it sounds hehe, but cant wait to get the litermeter or cal reactor...still havent made up my mind.

7 should be just perfect. get the deltec running and i'm sure growth will explode.

lmk when you want to swap frags, do you want a mounted or unmounted piece of the chips?

Using Reef Crystals - they work, and I'm too afraid to change now that I'm in the middle of dosing and what not. My alk is pretty solid, always has been. It was a little high last time I tested (11/1), but I was also topping off with a strong kalk. Started having high pH issues, so now i have just a light kalk mix, and my alk is back to steady 6.5 - 7 - I've always had troubly getting kH over 7.5 steadily, so I just leave it 6.5 - 7.

How big was your swing? What do you normally keep it at? did you lose the WHOLE colony? It was so nice! The litermeter 3 is a huge help in keeping the level stable - 150 small doses over 24 hours. I usually just make an adjustment after water changes. Thanks for the heads up - I will be sure to keep an eye a little closer and test more often now that I'm doing the Ultra daily.
